First Step Services Inc.

         First Step Services, Inc. Transitional Day Shelter has been serving homeless individuals and families since December 31, 2003 and is located in Kenosha, Wisconsin.  It is the only daytime shelter in Kenosha that is open seven days a week and it provides clients with the basic necessities of food, clothing, shelter, support services and referrals to other community agencies and programs.

         Our program components are designed to motivate individuals to look for housing and stable employment.  We provide aftercare  when permanent housing is found as well as make referrals to community resources when needed.   Any donations of any kind is greatly appreciated

         Eligibility:     First Step Services provides a safe haven during the day for any homeless individual or family that is without adequate housing.  This includes inividuals:

• Enrolled in the Inns program
• Living at a train or bus station, park or living in a car
• Living in an abandoned building, or
• living in other situations that are not fixed, regular or appropriate for daytime residence.
